Lucky

My horse Lucky had been colicing regularly for over a year before I
tried him on Equine Challenge Supplements and changed his diet.
He would colic, the blood work would show he was low in selenium
and had high liver enzymes. He was given selenium shots and put on
higher doses of organic selenium and then he would colic again.  I was
encouraged by friends at OSNHC to try this diet and Equine
Challenge Supplements.  I took Lucky off all commercial feed and
added a small amount of whole plain oats to his grass hay with the
Equine Challenge Grass supplements and Equine Challenge
Probiotics.  This was about Nov 15, '08, He has not coliced since and is
more relaxed but energetic and just all around looking and feeling great.
It has been a real eye opener to me to learn about quality ingredients
that can be utilized by the horse's digestive system and the importance
                                                                                                        of the metabolic balance.
Thank you Dr Mackie for giving me hope!

  2/20/09 Update!

Just thought I'd share with you that Lucky had a check up with his holistic vet this week and for the first time since she has been treating him, he had NO liver or stomach point agitations!  Yay! With a few of us in the area doing this diet, she is watching closely.  She is a DVM but has chosen to go alternative.

                                                                         Pistol

I recently purchased a 3 year old Morgan gelding.  Pistol had been
in pasture with several mares.  He was cut, scarred and he had
scrapes all over.  His coat was a faded brownish black and one of
his hooves had a large abscess  scar, not to mention the tar weed
that covered his entire body.  I hardly gave him a second look.  It
was my trainer that convinced me that with some tender loving
care this could be a great horse at a great buy.

When I took him home I immediately put him on Equine
Challenge Supplements and whole oats.  Now just
2 1/2 months later his whole appearance has transformed.  He is
jet black (almost magenta), his scars, scrapes, cuts and hay belly
have disappeared and his hoof scar will be gone in one more trim.
This is only possible because of the Equine Challenge
                                                                                                 Supplements .

My boy Pistol is now the joy of my life and has come so far in such a short amount of time because he has the proper diet, supplement, care and training.  To think, I just about passed him by!

Hi my name is Natalie, I'm very new to the horse world, but I just love it! I was
looking for a very calm horse that I could ride on the trail.  Kathy whom I've
known for several months was the person I talked to about finding me the right
                                                                          horse.

After riding several different Morgans I came across Felicity, a beautiful eight
year old mare who was so well trained even a thirteen year old could train on
                                                                          her.

I purchased her, although she was over weight by at least 50 lbs or so, I knew
she needed to lose that weight.  I was very concerned, I wanted to ride her
several times a week but I wanted to be sure she had the right nutrition, even
though she was on a diet.

Putting her on Equine Challenge Supplement  was  absolutely the right
choice!  In just over nine weeks, she has dropped weight, and has started to              Cursor over for "before" picture        build muscle and tone, also her coat is so much softer. The barefoot trimmer
remarked how much better she looked in such a short period of time.

I want to thank Kathy and Mackie for their help, education, and dedication to horses."

We are on our second 12# bag of Equine Challenge Grass  . While it's much harder to see physical changes in our animals going into winter, we must rely on our hands to tell us what's going on with our animals bodies.

Rusty, a mule with a very thick crested neck: His neck thickness has decreased significantly. There are no more ripples in the skin due to the fat buildup, and his neck is nearing normal. This supplement does seem to provide the building blocks needed to allow the animals body to manufacture needed nutrients to stay in balance. I've also seen a decrease in the fat pockets on this mule.

Buckshot, classic mule with pot belly: Buckshot has always had a pot belly that reminded me of that old Taco Bell commercial where the horse drinks to much water and as he's being lead off by the cowboy, the belly just bounces along like a water balloon.  Anyway, I have seen a reduction in his belly. I believe that he'll always have a bit of a belly due to the fact that he exhibits more donkey traits, but it's nice to see it not quite as large.

I'm anxious to see how they do on the supplement transitioning from winter to spring to summer. Our mules have always been very slow to shed the last of their winter coat around their mid sections. Buckshot has chronic dry skin in the spring/summer months.

I have 9 horses on Equine Challenge Grass  .  We had a drought and then rain and YUK I had rain-rot to deal with, with all 9 horses.  THANK GOD I had the horses on the Equine Challenge Grass  .  I truly believe it has made a difference. I have treated them for a week and already have the stubborn intruder on a down hill run. We had it once before and I fought the stuff for over a month and ended up having to give one horse antibiotics.

I am also very excited for the Montana Harvest foal Catalina is carrying. I am hoping your product will help produce a foal with a good hair coat, strong pasterns, and a strong immune system.  As it grows, a fine coordination between brain and muscles will be present.  The dam will have plenty of milk and the foal will digest and eliminate as a foal normally should.  The foal will have good width of face and be mentally bright.  It will be a pleasure to watch this foal grow...oops...I strayed into dream land...I could actually see the little buckskin colt. :-)  Anyway, remarkable product.  I will be ordering more.

Thanks!

                                                                                              Houdi

I have a beautiful gelding paint who is in his early twenties and I wanted
to take good care of him as he gets older.  He was over weight after
having an injury and needed to get some weight off and needed to get
some mobility back from not moving much.  After talking with Mackie &
Kathy I knew Equine Challenge  would be the right way to go.  I
started him on Equine Challenge Vitamin & Minerals Alfalfa  & Equine
Challenge Joint Support  .  After only a few weeks I saw great
improvement in how he looked and best of all how he felt.  I was also
encouraged by Mackie and Kathy to pull his shoes and take him barefoot.
It has been seven months now and Houdi's feet are the best they have
                                                                                              ever been.

I want to thank you for creating products that help a horse lover sleep at
night knowing they are taking the best care they can of there horse.  I
can’t even look at him without smiling knowing I have him on this great
product and he is going to age with grace and strength.

Hey Mom, got any more of that Equine Challenge ?

                                                                                                      Dear Mackie,

I’ve always tried to feed a good supplement, but never really noticed
that much difference between products that I’ve tried.  I usually check
out products by holding it in my hand and offering it to the animals
first just to see if they’ll eat it free choice and how much.  Most of the
time their reaction isn’t anything to write home about.

As most people that know me more than 5 minutes can tell, I tend to be skeptical.  When I heard about your product I
thought to myself…it’s probably good, but how different can vitamins and minerals really be?  I’d heard a few rumors at
the hoof school and I was curious.  “Could this really be as good as he says it is?”  So I went ahead and bought a bag and
took it home.  I opened it and sniffed it, hmmm that smelled pretty tasty!  All the way home I smelled that stuff all the
while wondering to myself if my animals would think it tasted as good as I thought it smelled.  So when I drove in the
yard the “herd” was waiting for me at the gate.  As usual I couldn’t wait to get over there and pet those long wonderful
ears and of course the horses too.  But most of all I wanted to get their reaction to Equine Challenge so I reached in the
bag and held it in my closed hand letting them get a whiff of it.  Abby, the biggest black mule, acted like it was something
she’d eat so I slowly opened my hand.  Pretty soon she wasn’t just licking my hand she was biting my hand trying to
scrape every last slobbery glob off my palm.  With that racket going on the others knew she was getting something really
good that they weren’t and now there was pandemonium at the gate!  I couldn’t fill my hands fast enough to satisfy the 3
mules and 2 horses that were going wild over the stuff.  I was having fun watching them enjoy the supplement until it
dawned on me that they weren’t slowing down and in fact they were ready to break down the gate!  Then I remembered
you had told me to just give them a “little”.  Whoops! I stood there watching them and all the while they were standing
there looking like 5 satisfied,  glazed eyed drunks at a bar licking their lips.  I have to tell you that I started getting a little
scared thinking that I might have OD’d them on the stuff.  So I ran to the house and called my friend Laura who talked me
into this stuff in the first place to see if that was possible.  I have to admit I felt pretty dumb saying “are you sure I didn’t
give them too much?”  I knew if I killed my husband’s mules I could start looking for a new home.  They were all just
standing there “way” too happy looking and in my opinion drunk.  Laura put my mind at ease when she said that her
horse had acted the same way.

From that day on each animal cleans up their bucket down to the last drop.  They still have that satisfied look on their
faces too.  The mules fat pockets seem to be lessening, black coats are darker, fuller and glossier, their bare hooves are
beautiful, and my grouchy mare is even in a better mood.  Don’t know what you put in that stuff but can you make it for
humans too?

Thanks Mackie for a great product.

Before & After
Hi Linda,  We hit our 3rd week using Equine Challenge and have decreased the Equine Challenge amount down to 2 oz. per day.  I have to tell you the improvements we've seen.  The horses hooves are looking fantastic and are growing way faster than before.  I've had to trim both horses as our trimmer isn't due for a while.  Also they aren't eating their poops anymore and haven't since we changed their diet.  What else.....their overall appearance is that of really healthy horses.  We are so glad to have found Equine Challenge.  I will definitely recommend it to anyone who asks!

I have been using Equine Challenge now for six months and from the                                                                                                very beginning all 10 horses were more energetic and more spirited than                                                                                            ever before even though they were already on a good diet.  Two horses                                                                                                 were finicky eaters and their appetites have picked up significantly;  Equine

Anna is a 27 year-old Arabian mare, which was treated for Cushing Disease beginning April 2008 with Pergolide.  From April through October, Anna had gotten progressivley worse.  She was depressed, in pain, increased weight, swelling of the legs and various other edemas, anemic, and her blood work showed that she was desending.  In October, Anna developed Laminitis and I was asked to double her Pergolide.  Three days later, she foundered.  An abdomon ultra sound showed that she did not have tumors or any other visable disease or abnormality other than an abnormal layer of fat.  At this point, I cut back to her original dose of Pergolide.  Over the next eight weeks, she was in severe pain, did not move more than 20 feet at a time.  She only came out of her paddock twice during this time.

The good news - eight weeks after Anna foundered, I was introduced to Dave Fitton.  Under his guidence, we pulled her shoes and put her on Equine Challenge Grass.  After three weeks, we added Equine Challenge Probiotic.  She is doing amazingly well and I believe the change has literally saved her life.  It might be important to note that I discontinued Pergolide (of own decision) slowly and was off the medicine within one week of starting Equine Challenge Grass.

Three weeks after this new program, I could pony her in the sand arena and was able lead her on the trails for 20 minute walks.  It has been one month and she trots on her own.  David, an apprentice of Dave's in the Felon/Scotts Valley area, assisted us in Anna's recovery.  He suggested that I reach out to you about working on reducing her fat deposits.  Rather than looking as if she were full-term, she now only looks over-weight.

THANKS for the teamwork.  It has been a six-month struggle where we thought she would need to be put down.  Many Vets and other equine professionals were perplexed and hopeless.

Prior to that he was an endurance horse and kept on the

him, he's thought he was starving and was always
hungry.  Keeping weight off of him was a challenge and
he'd get quite a hay belly.  Since being on Equine
Challenge  (only since November 9th!) the hay belly is
gone.  More than that, Doobee has relaxed about food for the first time.  He doesn't always finish his hay, and isn't as insistent when fed.  This is a major change for him.  Doobee is one who is calm and collected externally but I've always felt his internalized anxiety.  Now he just doesn't seem anxious.  He's the horse on the right in the photo.

Great Product!

I have my older Quarter/Arabian mare on Equine Challenge Grass  -- she is barefoot and her hair is so soft and shiny -- when I brought her home she had not been wormed regularly so had about three coats of hair and it was very dull and rough looking and she had a big hay belly.  She is on pasture 24/7 so I have to watch her weight in the Spring.  I really appreciate all the support you gave me when I have called with questions.  She liked your products from the first day!  She has been barefoot for two years and her feet are doing really great!! -- Thank you again for a great product.

Wow, just wow!  Three months of Equine Challenge, and the difference is
amazing.

I was using another supplement before switching to Equine
Challenge .  In just three months I could visibly see a huge
difference in my horses' coats.  Their coloring became deeper, my mare, Baby,
had dappling I never knew of, and oh boy... the shine, the beautiful shine!
From the inside out, their coats shine like they never have before.

I believe the probiotics have significantly improved their digestive system.
Their hooves are much healthier, with much less cracking and such.

My horses had mixed reviews on the taste.  Pokey and Baby loved Equine
Challenge from the start, however, Radish was not fond of it.  Taking
Kathy's advice, I backed off the quantity of Equine Challenge and mixed
applesauce so that it stuck to the whole oats, then gradually increased the
Equine Challenge to 2oz.  In just a week or so he was eating the full
amount without the applesauce or any complaints!

Now all three lick their dishes clean with delight!

Thank you for developing such a wonderful high quality supplement, it feels
great to know my horses are getting all the nutrition they need.

I bought this beautiful Rockie Mountain chocolate with flaxen mane and                                                                                              tail filly. She was the most beautiful horse I had ever seen. She came to                                                                                                  California for about 6 months and lost that beautiful chocolate color.  To                                                                                              say the least I was very upset.  A friend suggested that I try a supplement                                                                                           Equine Challenge.
Well, I don't just give my baby anything that someone suggests even if                                                                                                 they are my friends.  I was so upset that I did try it.  In just a few weeks I                                                                                             had my beautiful chocolate and flaxen Rockie Mountain horse back.  Now                                                                                           her coat is shiney again and she gets compliments all the time.  I have                                                                                                   noticed that she feels great without getting hot from this supplement.  I                                                                                                highly recommend this product everyone.

This is the 2nd bag and the supplement is working great on my 3 horses.  I have seen incredible improvement in their hair coats, hoofs and overall health.  I am actually feeding 1/3 less hay than I was at the same time last year and they have gained weight.  Thanks for the great product.

I started my horses on Equine Challenge Grass and  Equine Challenge Probiotic about a week ago and I am already  seeing great results.  Due to my horses being on a mostly grass hay diet,  they all had significant hay bellies. Within one week I have already seen a  great reduction in their bellies.  I am so impressed! I am also pleased to  report that they all are much brighter in the eyes and more alert. I can't  wait to see how their hooves respond.

Since I started feeding Equine Challenge Grass Supplement to my senior Morgan stallion and three Shetland pony crosses, I have noticed a tremendous difference in the texture of their manes.  All of the broken ends are nearly gone, the manes are actually easier to groom, it's like I've put flaxseed oil on the manes but instead I've put it in them via the supplement.  The ponies' coats are luxurious and healthy looking and they seem to be "happier" for lack of a better word to describe their demeanor.  Our senior stallion is also on joint supplement and believe it or not, he now comes trotting or cantering to the barn at 1 AM when I feed after work to get his oats and night-time feeding of hay.  He seems to be getting around better and have more energy.  My equines have a shine to them, both in their eyes and in their manes, tails and overall coats.

We have tried many different types of feeds in search of a product that would compliment our training program and improve our horses’ mind body and health.

We have found what we’ve been looking for in Equine Challenge Supplements.

It’s a total synergistically proportioned feed and is a complete vitamin, mineral and pro-biotic supplement. There are no by products or waste. It’s highly palatable and all of our horses love it!

Thanks to Equine Challenge our feeding program is easier than ever…We no longer have to mix and measure and can see results in as little as thirty days.

I went out to feed the horses one morning
and what I saw was an absolute shame.
My young sorrel gelding, with no kind of warning,
was four-footed gimpy and lame.

We called up the vet and she confirmed the reason:
IR-induced laminitis, much to our dismay.
Although it was January and mid-winter season,
we were advised to start soaking his hay.

It didn’t take long for this job to get old
though we tried our best to make it sort of fun.
That winter faucet water was frigidly cold
and wet, frozen hay weighs a ton.

We’d have to soak his hay for the rest of his life,
a duty of love we’d better not shirk.
It was too much heavy lifting for my darlin’ wife
so I did the lion’s share of the work.

Shasta

I resigned myself to this back-breaking chore
and for months this life style I led.
I filled buckets in advance, at least two or more
so I’d stay a few feedings ahead.

Then we met horse nutritionist Mackie one day
and after talking with him, were elated.
He advised us we would not need to soak any hay
if we used the product he originated.

His nutritional views changed our way of thinking.
We tried Equine Challenge and we’re sold.
Now the cold water is just for the horses’ drinking
and our gelding’s good health is worth gold.

Equine Challenge Supplements were the key to his cure.
It’s a product I’m happy to endorse.
I am done with hay soaking, that’s for darn sure.
I don’t know who’s happier, me or my horse!

Patina

I want to express how well I have found that your latest product
Pissy Mare” has worked for my Morgan mare.  By no means is
my Patina “pissy” but after reading up and listening to some
knowledgeable information on the raspberry leaves and how it
helps support the “female” anatomy of the horse I was anxious
to see how it worked.  Patina has pyometra.
When I bought her I was told she was not able to carry a foa
l because of uterine scarring. It really didn’t’ mean too much to
me at the time.   She developed pyometra from the scarring and
after owning her for several months I noticed her belly was
extended.  I was a little excited thinking maybe she was in foal.
I had the vet out to check her and that was not the case.  Her
uterus was the size of a beach ball full of pus.  She was able to
drain it and got a significant amount of the thick white fluid out.
After speaking to you and Mackie and your suggestion to try this
product I am happy to report that she is now able to expel this
build up of fluid on her own.  She had been on the product for 4
days and I was cleaning her stall I found she had expelled
approximately a gallon of the pus.  After 2 weeks of using
Pissy Mare the vet was out to give her shots and checked her uterus, it was only the size of a softball.  I was so relieved to know that she is able to contract enough to get this pus out on her own. No more beach ball size uterus and I can tell she feels better.
She is now in season and expelling the pus as fast as it builds up…hurray for Patina thanks to Pissy Mare.   My husband is also grateful for no more vet bills to clear the fluid. Thanks for “Pissy Mare” and thanks from Patina & Houdi for ALL your outstanding products!!!!

We had been hearing a lot of good things about Equine Challenge  Supplements. When they came out with their formula specially designed for the Southwest, we decided to give it a try. Our horses have never looked better! They are shiney, dappled, have plenty of energy, yet are very calm and relaxed. Their fast-growing hooves are extremely strong, and they are simply gleaming pictures of health. Our horses' photos below really tell it all!
We now recommend Equine Challenge  to our trimming clients, and they are also having fast positive results. This is an excellent product, from a really good company, with a unique and extremely effective, yet economical formulas. A big thumbs up from us!

I will never use another nutritional supplement other than Equine Challenge.  That  is a huge statement for me to make, but the results that I have seen in all 10 (yes 10) of my horses, from foals to a 31 year old rescue mare have been amazing.  Where to start?  I will go oldest to youngest.
Twilight is a 31 year old half Appaloosa, half Paint mare.  When I got her last year she was about 100lbs underweight, her feet were so long that it looked like she was wearing clown shoes, and she walked like she had swim flippers on her feet.  She was about 3/4 deaf and had uveitis in both eyes, but could still see somewhat.  I thought I would just get her out of where she was and then put her down the next week.  When I went to pick her up though she enthusiastically jumped in the trailer and nickered as if she knew she was going to a better place.  I took her and her 2 year old stud colt home with me.  Now, I have loved and studied equine nutrition for many years and was using all of the latest and "best" grain mixes out there and was content.  So I figured I'd do the same with these two.  They both responded well to getting food and water on a regular basis and were putting weight on, but not nearly as well as I'd hoped.  I was going through what else I could do when my trimmer recommended trying Equine Challenge
So I got a bucket in and started putting them on twice daily doses.  They were looking great, but still something was missing.  The answer was given to me at one of Mackie's  stewardship clinics.  I needed to take them off of all of the other crap!  Mackie said grass hay and whole oats with Equine Challenge, that's it.  No really, that is it and for a reason.  A lot of the stuff in formulated feeds actually can inhibit the absorption of some vitamins and minerals.  Here I was feeding up to 8lbs of formulated feeds and the horses were shiny, but as Dave (a Challenge advocate and loyal user) put it, they didn't have that "stallion shine".  So I got home from Mackie's clinic and took all of my grains over to the cows and filled my grain cans up with only WHOLE OATS!  In a week the change was amazing.  I didn't realize how much I was inhibiting the power of the Equine Challenge with the other stuff that I was giving them until I saw the changes and then I quickly put every horse I had on Equine Challenge.  I was using the oats to mix in the supplement, but I quickly realized that they loved the Challenge by itself.  So easy!  I was told that I would see their eyes brighten, their coats gleam, their dispositions would get calmer, their colors deepen and their coats would feel like Chinchilla fur.  All of that happened.  Twilight is a true black and white paint now. Her weight quickly started increasing and, I swear, her eyes look even better.  She is still half blind and half deaf, but she will trot across the pasture happy as can be.  As for her two year old colt, who looked like a narrow yearling, he started filling out and looking like the 3 year old that he now is.  His chest widened, his barrel deepened, his rump started rounding out and his mane and tail are growing!
The other amazing change is in Sonny, a 12 year old scared to death of people, beautiful buckskin gelding.  Sonny had severe ring bone in his left front foot and moderate ring bone in the right front.  His feet were getting so overgrown because I couldn't hardly catch him let alone trim his feet.  He limped severely and would even hold his left front foot off the ground when standing.  I kid you not, in 3 days he was walking 50% better.  Nothing else had been changed.  Nothing!  He also seemed to chill out a bit.  So I spent some time with him one day after giving him his Equine Challenge and haltered him and brought him in so I could work with him and get those feet trimmed along with putting him on 2 doses a day of the supplement.  My trimmer, Emily, was able to take the excess off of the front feet after a long petting and scratching session given by Emily's friend, Dan.  She said Sonny was calm, but she didn't want to push it so we settled for a quick clean up.  Sonny loves the Equine Challenge and seems to actually crave it.  It has been 3 weeks since putting him on the twice daily doses and he is 85% better!  I am going to keep on with his trimmings and supplement and want to get him re-x-rayed to see the internal difference on his pasterns.
As for the rest of the group, I have a 16 year old broodmare with a 2 month old filly on her side that is growing like a weed and looks fantastic.  I am giving the filly Equine Challenge with the extra probiotics to see if I can get her new coat that's coming in to really shine.  I have a gorgeous yearling that passed mom's height up already and shines like nothing I have ever seen.  By the way, theses horses are not pampered and blanketed and brushed all the time.  They are all just out in pasture and get grass hay and their supplement.  That's it.
Chexie gleams like a copper penny.  Blaze my 20 year old gelding is so soft and is a lot more active, playing with the 3 year old (now gelding) mentioned earlier.  And then there is Noble.  He is my stunning 16.1 hand Paint gelding.  When I got him he was loaded with ascarids and I think it permanently messed up his digestive tract because he constantly had diarrhea.  I put him on the Challenge along with the probiotics and in three days (seems to be the magic number) he was almost clear.  If the weather changes sharply or something with the feed changes a little he might get a little squirty, but nothing like before.  He used to have it all down the back of his (white) legs and in his long, thick tail.  Yeah, lots of fun!  He is also addicted to the Challenge and I am debating on putting him on two doses a day to see what would happen.  He is my extrovert so he drives me nuts, but after eating his Challenge he will just stand around for a few minutes as if saying, "Ah, that's just what I needed".
The other things that I have seen are beautiful, strong feet ,and both my filly and the yearling, have these dense bones and look so much more mature and solid than other babies that I've been around.   They just look so healthy! I constantly get comments on how great my horses look and they are shocked when I tell them how simple my feed program is.  I also love the fact that Equine Challenge is very economical.  I figured one dose to equate to 67cents per day.  That is so much cheaper than all of the other stuff that I was feeding before.  So, yes, I have found the last supplement that I will ever try again and I can say that with complete confidence.

the ripe old age of six and then was sent packing due to an injury of
some sort (a bone chip) in his left front fetlock.  A mystery whether

safe to say he did have surgery to remove the chip and the knot is
                                                                                                                        scar tissue.
After passing through a few hands "Luke" found himself in Illinois
on a dry lot with another horse named Jerry.  I do not know what                                                                                                                             "Luke's" nickname was on the track but when he found himself
buddied up with Jerry he was called Bennen (you know Ben N' Jerry
Ice Cream).  "Luke" was to be a companion to Jerry as well as a                            Cursor Over For "Before" Picture                                        dressage horse.  After Jerry died, "Luke's" then owner was so                                                                                                                                         saddened by her loss she could not even so much as look at "Luke" and he was left alone in the dry lot more or less waiting to die at the very ripe age of 8!
He then found himself on a trailer that was Kansas bound.  He wasn't in Kansas long before I came across an ad for him.  The woman who had him recognized that he was too big and athletic for her needs and had decided to move him on when she found the right match for him.  Apparently I am that match
I really didn't need another horse (how many of us say that just before introducing a new member to our herds?) but I was struck by "Luke's" looks and horsenality, oh and did I mention I have a bleeding heart for these Thoroughbreds?  Sight unseen I told his temporary custodian I would take him and met her halfway into Kansas.  This was in November and here in Colorado we are numerous shades of brown with little to no pasture and usually snow.
"Luke" was  leaving chest high grass and warm temperatures as well as spongelike footing in his pasture.  When I loaded him I knew he would need some PT what with all the running he was subjected to but I had no idea to what degree.  Within two weeks of arriving he went into a sort of healing crisis.  His feet were a wreck, his whole body was a wreck, he cribbed, and emotionally he had checked out.
Fast forward to the spring of 2009.  My good friend and trimmer was doing an
awesome job working through years of bad shoeing, laid over bar and bruising
that I had never seen the likes of.  I was addressing his skeletal issues through
chiropractic work as well as massage & magnetic therapy.  He was starting to come
out from behind his emotional curtain and showing what a cool, cool fellow he
could be, but he still looked really poor.
The "before" picture was taken around March of 2009 prior to finding Equine
Challenge Supplements.  He was on a lot of feed and I was getting nowhere
trying to fatten up his topline and bring some shine to his coat.  I emailed and spoke
on the phone with Dr. Hartwig about "Luke" and my other horses.  It was
determined that yes, the Equine Challenge Grass formula would help as would
additional Equine Challenge Probiotic for the hay belly.  I followed the
instructions for loading and began feeding the Equine Challenge.  My honest
opinion was, "What do I have to lose?  It's not all that expensive."  I am still
laughing because as you can see, the horse looks amazing!  "Luke" is registered with
the Jockey Club as a dark brown, he is jet black with chocolate dapples along the
inside of his butt cheeks!  He has really turned the corner and I anticipate and am
excited for our future together trail riding, checking fence, eventing, etc.  I don't
imagine he ever considered being a Colorado Cow Pony, my desire is that through
good nutrition and the Equine Challenge Supplements he will have many happy
years with us, healthy and whole!
Thank you for all the time, research, development and passion that is put into
Equine Challenge Supplements.

Kismet

Hi Mackie, we met last week briefly at Cheryl's school. Your nutritional lecture was moving and it warms my heart to know there are other people who care that deeply about their horses. I may even consider going to Spencer's school (he is already our equine dentist in CT) in the next year or so after hearing your story and speaking with Gail.

Anyway, my horses have been on Equine Challenge Supplements now for about 6 weeks. The greatest change came from my 6yr old gelding, Kismet (a PMU rescue horse that I've owned since he was 10 months old). He has had fungus issues all his life, mostly in the form of thrush (or some other fungus) in the hoof and for the last couple of years he had aural plaque that would not go away. Even though he has had great barefoot trims his whole life and lives a balanced lifestyle on varied terrain, never stalled, etc etc. I could not get a complete handle on his fungus issues. I suspected his diet was still off somehow and searched online, finding your web site (before I knew you were affiliated with Cheryl's school).

Well, all his issues have changed since being on the Equine Challenge!  I've done nothing other than discontinue the feed he was getting (GroNWin) and feeding only Equine Challenge (of course he gets the same hay/pasture as before). His ear fungus is COMPLETELY gone and his feet aren't carrying the thrush anymore. That little nagging voice in my head is quiet now! Thank you for developing this great supplement, finally something I can feed my horses and feel 100% good about it.

Warmly,

Mackie,

Two months ago I started our gelding on Equine Challenge Laminae 911. Sometime in his life it appears he had laminitis. We have been barefoot trimming for 9 mos and were unable to get him out of the boots even for short periods of time due to soreness.  And for the past  4-6 mos.he had been lame for one reason or another. I started him on the Equine Challenge Laminae 911 and in 2 weeks saw a tremendous difference. He is no longer lame and is not near as tender without the boots. I have renewed hope that we may get him through this to become a usable horse again. Just thought I'd give you some good news!

Thanks,
